- How do I place an order?
- Ordering is easy: simply send me an email with the item number of the piece(s) you wish to purchase, and let me know your postcode (so I can determine the shipping cost), and I will email you an invoice in return with all the details.
- What about payment?
- I accept payment via Direct Deposit or Money Order.
- How much will shipping cost?
- I use Registered Post for shipping within Australia, which is trackable and requires you to sign for the item on delivery. Prices are based on the size, weight and thickness of the package, and on average range from $5.00 for something small and flat, to $8.00 for something larger. Once I have received your order, I will work out the cost of shipping and advise in your invoice. (Please note: while Cluster Rings are a relatively small item, they cost $8.00 to send as they are beyond the 'thickness' limit of 20mm for posting.)
For international orders, please contact me with your order and location, and I'll be happy to get back to you with a quote. - Where can I see your jewellery?
- I am a regular at the Queanbeyan Summer Sunset Markets, which are a fantastic evening market held on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of the warmer months (October - March, excluding January). Come along and enjoy the fantastic food available (think freshly made pizzas, gozleme, kebabs, and more), with a glass of wine from Shepherds Run, and finish with a delectable sweet-treat from Crafted by Natalie. There's also an abundance of fresh food available, and of course, a wide variety of market stalls with a focus on locally handmade items. Keep up to date with details by visiting their page on facebook and the Queanbeyan City Council website.
You will also find me at the Canberra Southside Markets, which are held a number of times a year at the Weston Creek Community Centre. These are true Community Markets, with a focus on locally produced wares, and are a fabulous day out, with loads of local entertainment throughout the day. As yet, there are no dates set for this year, but as soon as there are, I'll announce them on my Notices page and on the Karmic Star facebook page (for location and other information, see Canberra Southside Market).
An exclusive range of my jewellery and giftware is also located in the Vineyard Shop at Shepherds Run Wines in Wamboin, NSW (just outside of Canberra) - where you can also enjoy the wonderful wine and food served at their Cellar Door and Cafe (for opening hours, location, and all details, see Shepherds Run Wines).
I do attend various other markets and events during the year (such as the Wine Harvest Festival held at Shepherds Run Wines each year), so to keep up-to-date with happenings, check my Notices page here on the website, or 'like' my Karmic Star page on facebook for all the news! - Can I request an item in a different colour / stone / size / metal?
- Absolutely! I will let you know how I can adapt the design to suit your taste, and provide you with a quotation at no obligation.
- I've got something particular in mind, can you help?
- I love doing custom pieces, and will work with you to create your perfect, personalised masterpiece!
- I have a special pendant, can you make a strand for it?
- I'd love to! Give me an idea of what you would like, and I'll provide a quotation at no obligation
- What kind of earrings hooks do you use?
- I hand-make Sterling Silver hooks for all of my Sterling Silver earrings, and I use hypo-allergenic Surgical Steel hooks for all my plated and copper earrings (unless otherwise specified in the description). I can also replace the Surgical Steel hooks with Sterling Silver if required, at an additional charge.
- Do you have clip earrings?
- I am happy to change any of my earrings from hooks to silver-plated or gold-plated clips at no extra charge. (Sterling Silver clips are available on request and incur an additional charge - please contact me if you'd like a quote).
- Do you make anything for kids?
- I have a special range of smaller bracelets, called The Fairy Princess Collection, which you'll find on the Bracelets page. And of course, if you don't find the perfect piece already made, please contact me with your requirements.
- Do you make anything for men?
- I have an assortment of Pewter Pendants, and also larger-sized gemstones that look great as a "pendant" on leather, and these are popular with both men and women. If you don't see any on the website, please contact me and I'll send you a photo.
Please also check out my Extras page, where you'll find Wine Glass Charms and Bookmarks, which make excellent gifts for everyone. - Jewellery care tips:
- Metal components in all jewellery will tarnish over time - it's a natural process of oxidisation. How fast that happens will depend on how the jewellery is stored. One way of avoiding tarnishing is to keep your jewellery enclosed in an airtight bag or container. But if you're anything like me, that's not the most practical or aesthetically-pleasing way of storing jewellery! A jewellery cloth will work at removing tarnish from both Sterling Silver and plated metals to brighten them up (although keep in mind that the silver and gold on plated items is very thin and will wear away if rubbed too often).
While some people's natural body oils can speed up tarnishing, (and there's nothing that can be done about that), what can be avoided is using body creams and perfume with your jewellery. Avoid spraying perfume directly on your jewellery (find other parts of your body to spray it on!), and try to leave as much time as possible between applying your body cream and putting your jewellery on - make it the last thing you put on before you leave the house.
Keep these tips in mind, and you will be able to enjoy your jewellery for years to come!
